The Vallon des Glauges estate is nestled in a magnificent hilly landscape, surrounded by lavender fields and olive groves. The vineyards stretch over sunny hills, benefiting from a Mediterranean climate ideal for viticulture. The combination of clay-limestone soil, optimal exposure to the sun and the region’s cool winds creates perfect conditions for to grow top-quality grapes.

The history of the estate

The Oddo family founded the international Oddo Vins & Domaines Group. The family philosophy is structured around a simple principle: select the best terroirs and partners in renowned appellations. The Domaine du Vallon des Glauges is the family’s founding project. Originally from the region, and seduced by the breathtaking beauty of the Alpilles regional park, the Oddo family quickly saw the immense potential of the site. After replanting more than 20 hectares of vines, then completely reorganizing the winery, offices, tasting room and overall architecture, the Oddo family turned their attention to developing wine tourism and promoting their expertise.

A responsible approach

Surrounded by the mineral nature of the Mediterranean climate, the vineyards on the ancient bed of the Durance River benefit from an exceptional terroir. Part of the estate is located on very rocky slopes close to the Tour des Opies, the highest point in the Alpilles region, which produce highly aromatic berries while retaining a high mineral content for long-lasting wines.

Since 2020, the Domaine has begun its conversion to organic farming with a real commitment to the terroir, which will be completed in 2023. Biodiversity is at the heart of the Domaine, both in the tilling of the soil and in the winemaking process: ewes graze on the estate to encourage the development of micro-organisms and natural fertilizers needed for the vines to thrive. Beehives have also been set up on the estate to encourage pollination. Organic farming guarantees complete harmony between the needs of the vines and the ecosystem.

Vallon des Glauges flagship wines

Oddo, Domaine Vallon Des Glauges : “A sustained rosé with aromas of spices, white pepper, orange blossom, walnuts and white peaches. Intense and tasty, it reveals an expressive, well-structured cuvée, combining lightness with a powerful taste. The finish is long-lasting and intense, with a pleasant hint of spice. For aperitifs, cocktails and summer cuisine. This wine should be enjoyed within the year.” (Paolo Basso, World’s Best Sommelier 2013)

Iris, Domaine Vallon Des Glauges : This white wine has a nose of apricot, almond blossom and white hawthorn. On the palate, the wine asserts freshness, tension and persistence. All in all, this is a light, unpretentious wine that’s easy to drink, especially as an aperitif or potentially with fish. And it’s excellent value for money!

Bulles des Opies, Domaine Vallon Des Glauges This pale pink wine is aged in stainless steel tanks on fine lees, and then made using the Charmat method. The nose reveals great freshness and complex citrus aromas. Soft bubbles envelop the palate, giving it length and persistence. A lovely, refreshing cuvée with a long, fine finish!
