In the Middle Ages, Occitania was a land worthy of a fairy tale. Preux chevaliers fought for the beautiful eyes of princesses and to defend the honor of their homelands. With Le Sang des Seigneurs, Christophe intends to pay tribute to this spirit of chivalry.

When iron and passion meet

Christophe Vaudou is responsible for Sang des Seigneurs. Born into a family of epicureans, Christophe was quickly seduced by the tannins in wines. A word of clarification… When he started out, nothing predestined him for a career as a merchant.

For thirty years, this dark-haired man scoured the five continents in the course of meetings. Europe, Africa, America… Each time, he was left speechless by the immensity of nature. Then, at the age of 48, his life took a completely different turn.

Following an unfortunate event, Christophe Vaudou goes into introspection. What direction should he take at this point in his life? The answer will take the form of the Avignon department. There, he meets a winegrower from Nîmes. His love of the vine caught up with him. An idea germinates in his mind. The blood of the Lords is about to be born.

A lover of medieval history, Christophe Vaudou is passionate about Cathar castles and the Occitan region. Thus, on the label, two knights joust. On the right, the Chevalier du Languedoc. On the left, the mythical Black Knight. And as a reminder of the blood shed in defense of the fatherland, the name of the wine range will be Le Sang des Seigneurs.

A story told over a drink

To bring Sang des Seigneurs to life, Christophe Vaudou decided to collaborate with the best winemakers in the Occitanie region. As soon as the harvest begins, he scours the estates in search of the best bunches. It is from these that the exquisite beverages of the “Le Sang des Seigneurs” wine range are born.

Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, … the different grape varieties of Occitanie come together in Le Sang des Seigneurs bottles. Faithful to their terroirs, most of these varieties appreciate soils where clay and limestone abound. Open one of the Le Sang des Seigneurs bottles and rediscover the fervor of the ancient knights.

Red, wine, rosé, … Wines of royal stature

The Le Sang des Seigneurs range includes nine wines, eight of which are vintages and one of which qualifies as a local wine.

Gold medal winner 92/100 pts Gilbert & Gaillard 2021, Châteauneuf du Pape is a blend of Grenache and Syrah. Blended for 12 to 15 months before being aged for three to six months, this red wine has an aroma of red fruit, mocha and dried fruit.

Other red wines produced by Le Sang des Seigneurs include :

  • Vacqueyras: a 2018 red awarded the gold medal 90/100 pts Gilbert & Gaillard 2021 ;
  • Cairanne: a 2018 red that won the Concours Général Agricole Paris Médaille d’Argent 2019;
  • Côtes du Rhône: a red wine awarded a gold medal at the Concours Général Agricole Paris Or 2019;
  • Costières de Nîmes: a 2020 red that won the Médaille d’Or Gilbert & Gaillard 2021 gold medal.

In addition to these red wines, Le Sang des Seigneurs also produces a rosé (le rosé des Seigneurs) and a white 2020 (Médaille d’Or Gilbert & Gaillard 2021).
