The history of the estate

The history of Forget-Brimont began in the early 19th century, with the Forget family. For more than 200 years, the Forget family has been cultivating its vineyards with great care and passion. Respect for tradition has been handed down from generation to generation, and today Michel Forget, representing the sixth generation of the Forget family, has taken over the Champagne vineyard. Forget-Brimont was founded by Michel Forget in 1978. In 2000, he joined forces with Frédéric Jorez, a native of Ludes, a Premier Cru village between Reims and Epernay. The vineyard has managed to preserve its ancestral know-how while evolving with the times, since remarkable efforts have been made to work with methods that are more respectful of the environment. This progress has been rewarded with H.V.E level 3 certification. This recognition certifies that the estate is a place that is evolving with the times, aware of today’s concerns while continuing to promote the quality of its Crus.

Terroir and vineyard characteristics

Forget-Brimont owns vineyards covering 18 hectares of land. Most of the vineyards are located between Mailly-Champagne and Verzenay for the Grands Crus, and Chigny-les-Rises, Ludes and Villers-Allemand for the Premiers Crus. Located in the heart of lands historically renowned for their production of exceptional wines and champagnes, the Forget-Brimont vineyards are unquestionably renowned for their Pinot Noir. Forget-Brimont’s combination of a rich, historic terroir and a new approach to vineyard cultivation has produced some exceptional Champagnes. The estate’s annual production is around 300,000 bottles, produced with respect for tradition.

Estate wines

Forget-Brimont offers a range of Premiers Curs and Grands Crus. The wines are carefully and rigorously observed as they mature. They are kept in cellars for a minimum of two years, while Vintage wines are kept for up to ten years. Champagne Forget-Brimont Brut Premier Cru, for example, is made from 40% Pinot Meunier, 40% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay. This Premier Cru is a real sure bet, and has already shone thanks to its incomparable quality, winning numerous awards and even being represented by Japan Airlines. The Forget-Brimont range represents a diversity of Crus, from the salmon-colored Rosé Premier Cru, to the ruby-colored Champagne Grand Rosé, to the pale yellow Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru, and many others. A total of 9 quality Crus are on offer.
