Some wines are forever etched in our memories. There’s no doubt that Dubois et fils is one of them. Gorged with the nutrients that abound on the right bank of the Dordogne, these Bordeaux wines are simply exquisite. At the same time, is it really surprising? With 25 years of vines and family know-how, the wines and vineyards have more than one card up their sleeve…

Ten generations at the service of the vine

In 1962, François Dubois fell under the spell of Bordeaux’s Right Bank. On this land, where clay and limestone play a harmonious ballet, the Dubois ancestor wrote the first lines of the estate’s history.

Ten generations down the line, the epicurean’s passion is as strong as ever. Now run by Xavier Dubois, the winery now covers 22.50 hectares. The scene of an alchemy known only to Mother Nature, these lands produce 140,000 bottles of Bordeaux every year. And not just any red wine.

As versatile as a chameleon, the terroir of the Bordeaux region is at its best in the Dubois vineyards. Dubois wines can be found in various categories:

  • Bordeaux ;
  • Bordeaux rosé ;
  • Lalande de Pomerol ;
  • Pomerol ;
  • St Emilion Grand Cru.

An estate steeped in ancestral traditions

The strength of Dubois wines and vineyards lies in the diversity of its soil. Most of the area is covered with a mixture of clay and limestone. However, in the area where Pomerol is produced, the soil is both sandy and gravelly. That’s right… That’s what it takes to give Pomerol that musky edge.

Only one type of grape is grown by the Dubois family. Since 1962, these craftsmen of the vine have been sublimating Merlot through traditional, sustainable agriculture.

In addition to their rural activities, these estates are also home to an intense cultural life. To share their love of wine, the Dubois have set up tasting points on the region’s excellent wine trails. What’s more, it’s not uncommon for third parties to rent out their large garden for weddings or parties.

Wines that restore Bordeaux’s reputation

If there’s one thing that shocks Xavier Dubois to the core, it’s the smear campaign against Bordeaux. For the operations manager, this is simply unacceptable.

Determined to show that Bordeaux’s accessibility in no way detracts from its aroma, he produces only unforgettable red wines. And because he’s madly in love with his region, his productions can be found among five major groups.

Bordeaux, Bordeaux rosé, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, … When it comes to restoring Merlot to its former glory, the craftsmen at Domaine Dubois stop at nothing. Taste one of their wines.
