Seven generations later…

Today, Alexia and Pierre Bouyer are at the helm of this wine estate located in the Bordeaux vineyards of Saint-Christophe-des Bardes, near Saint-Emilion. Domaines Bouyer comprises two wine estates: Château Milon and Clos de la Cure. Their 18-hectare vineyard extends over the exceptional terroirs of the Saint-Emilion, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru and Pomerol appellations. These terroirs are among the most sought-after in the Pomerol region.

So, 7 generations after the creation of the estate, Alexia and Pierre take the helm of this true family heritage. They are driven by the desire to constantly improve the quality of their wines and to produce wines that reflect their terroir, with the utmost respect for their environment. Their winegrowing operations are therefore managed using the “lutte raisonnée” method.

Domaine Bouyer wines

Le Clos 56 2016, by Domaine Boyer is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc produced in the Pomerol appellation. This cuvée comes from a parcel of 56-acre vines (hence the name) over 60 years old! This wine is defined by its exceptional aromatic concentration. The nose reveals intense aromas of ripe black fruits, spices and flowers, accompanied by toasty notes. On the palate, the aromatic palette is rounded out by lovely woody flavors. This Pomerol is structured and full-bodied, round and dense. This is a wine for ageing and gastronomy.

Le Caprice de Milon 2018 is a Saint-Emilion 100% Merlot, ideal for a bistronomic meal. It has a greedy nose of red fruit, complemented on the palate by a beautiful woody nuance. This round, supple wine is the perfect accompaniment to tapas, Italian dishes, soft cheeses or chocolate fondant.

Le Clos de la Cure 2016 is a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru made from a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Notes of black fruits, red fruits and spices intermingle. The tannins are firm but ripe and mellow, and the palate is round, structured and long. A perfect accompaniment to poultry terrine, rack of lamb or stuffed porcini mushrooms.

Château Milon 2018 is a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru with a fruity character. On the nose, aromas of black fruits, cooked fruits and spices are complemented by mineral notes. The palate is suave and unctuous, revealing good substance and offering a long finish. This wine can be enjoyed today, but may also benefit from cellaring for a few more years. For even greater pleasure, drink it with a 7 o’clock leg of lamb, a pheasant terrine, or a delicious hazelnut cracker…
