The story
The story of Champagne Roger Constant Lemaire began at the end of the 19th century, in the town of Hautvillers in Champagne. Mr Désiré Lemaire then bought the first lands of the estate, thus giving life to this beautiful family wine story. His grandson, Roger-Constant, took over, doubling the size of the vineyard and moving the estate to Villers-sous-Châtillon. Brigitte Lemaire, daughter of Roger-Constant, is now at the helm, carrying on the family tradition alongside her husband, also a winemaker, and her children.
Champagne Roger-Constant Lemaire’s vines now stretch over 12 hectares on the south bank of the Marne Valley, where they benefit from a clay-limestone terroir. In terms of grape varieties, the family has been growing Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier since the beginning.
Roger-Constant Lemaire cuvées
What makes their Champagnes special? None of their cuvées undergo malolactic fermentation, unlike the vast majority of Champagnes.
Cuvée Trianon is a non-vintage Champagne made from a blend of Pinot Noir (60%) and Chardonnay (40%). The nose reveals notes of jasmine, hazelnut and mirabelle plums blended with subtle lemony aromas. This rich aromatic palette is rounded out on the palate by nuances of bergamot, green tea and honeysuckle. Its freshness and elegance make it the ideal partner for warm foie gras with ratafia or scallops. A guaranteed delight!
Cuvée Trianon 66 Brut is an anniversary cuvée celebrating the date when Monsieur Roger-Constant Lemaire transformed the brand into a family institution. Its dosage ranges from 0 to 7 g/L. It seduces with its aromatic complexity and finesse, combining vegetal, floral and fruity notes with attractive spicy undertones. Pair it with fish, shellfish or financiers for dessert, and you’ll be amazed!
Our Rosé de Saignée is an ode to gourmet pleasure. The nose reveals nuances of orange blossom, tobacco and kirsch. On the palate, candied fruits are intensely present, complemented by honey and floral notes. For added delight, pair with stuffed quail for the main course or fresh fruit salad for dessert.
Les Hautes Prières is a 100% Chardonnay from vines planted on the Hautvillers 1er Cru terroir. This blanc de blancs is aged for 7 years in wood, giving it structure and aromatic complexity. It presents clear aromas of warm cereals, herbal flowers, toasted and roasted notes of mocha and cocoa. Sliced duck or cod will be sublimated by this superb Champagne.
