A family story

A family-run vineyard, know-how and a taste for excellence have been passed down through five generations of the De Sloovere-Pienne estate.

Today, mother and daughter Chantal and Émeline De Sloovere work hand in hand, focusing on the quality and diversity of their Champagnes.

Perched on the heights of the Côteaux Sud d’Epernay and the Côte des Blancs, the estate covers 8 hectares and is run entirely using integrated viticulture methods.

Chantal and Émeline craft their cuvées with passion and precision, right on the estate, respecting traditions while adding their own touch of modernity.

They dare to make subtle blends of the three Champagne grape varieties: Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, giving their Champagnes balance and structure.

Émeline took over the estate from her grandfather Alain Pienne in 2015. His experience has been enriched by numerous trips to other fields. She brings knowledge and innovation to the family vineyard: fermentation of the different terroirs separately and with indigenous yeasts, no cold stabilization or filtration. All cuvées are made from first press juices.

Émeline grew up on the farm where her family still lives. Dating back to the 12th century, it served as a storeroom for the nearby fortified castle before being converted to vineyards at the end of the 19th century.

A promising vineyard

In July 2020, the De Sloovere family opened a restaurant on the property. The produce comes directly from the organically planted garden, which at the same time nurtures the biodiversity of the terroir.

On the rise, Domaine De Sloovere has set itself an ambitious goal for the future: an ecological transition involving the reduction of chemical inputs and the restoration of biodiversity, with a view to producing ever more authentic and powerful champagnes. Since 2016, no herbicides or pesticides have been used on the vineyard.

Émeline, who is in charge of vinification at the estate, is the winner of the 2019 Jeunes Talents du Champagne award: an accolade that crowns a passionate and rigorous job that augurs well for the future.

Champagne De Sloovere-Pienne is a young, modern and dynamic Champagne house with character, poised to become a renowned vineyard.

Les Champagnes De Sloovere-Pienne

Cuvée Empreinte is a 100% Meunier blanc de noirs with no dosage. A true demonstration of savoir-faire, this emblematic cuvée is the first to be vinified by Emeline. This Brut Nature, with no added sugar, is a gourmet champagne that reveals complex, subtle, gourmand aromas of quince with a chocolate finish. This highly acclaimed cuvée earned Emeline the title of Jeune Talent du Champagne in 2019.

Cuvée Ange is a blanc de blancs made from the finest parcels of Chardonnay. The flagship of the company, it represents the art of French entertaining. Made exclusively from the hearts of cuvées, it is elegance itself. Limited to 720 bottles, this is a well-balanced, smooth cuvée. Aged for 72 months in our cellars, it develops sweet brioche notes and aromas of yellow fruit and hazelnut.

Eugène is an intensely fruity, refined rosé de saignée from the oldest, sunniest parcel of Meunier. Preserved in a magnificent hand-painted bottle, this is a rare and precious cuvée with a strong personality. The deep color of its robe and the finesse of its bouquet make this champagne the king of aperitifs and desserts.

Carte d’Or is the house’s classic cuvée, reflecting the spirit of Sloovere-Pienne. Between tradition and modernity, it is characterized by its fruitiness, freshness and gourmandise. Its richness and generosity are the result of a blend of Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from 3 different terroirs.

Champagne Réserve is both generous and complex. Structured and balanced, the Meunier and Chardonnay grapes are complemented by a hint of Pinot Noir. An all-purpose Champagne for every occasion, with a natural smoothness on the palate.

Cuvée Prestige is refined, complex and fresh. The terroirs are carefully blended, giving this champagne finesse, balance and subtlety. A blend dominated by Chardonnay with notes of citrus fruit, whose gourmandise is to be commended.

Champagne Rosé is both seductive and round. Elegant red fruit aromas are clearly visible, and a minimum 18-month ageing period in the cellar gives it elegance, intensity and charm.
