Situation
The Cévennes or Cévennes PGI is a protected geographical indication in Languedoc-Roussillon, known until 2011 as vin de pays de cévennes until the appellation was renamed.
The region’s climate is Mediterranean, with mild winters, summer drought and autumn storms with heavy rainfall. There is occasional snowfall due to its proximity to the Aigoual massif.
The Cévennes PGI syndicate is also experimenting with agroforestry and its variant
vitiforestry
in various fields.
The region is known for its schistose massif, while the production sites are essentially composed of marl mixed with limestone.
Grape varieties
The main grape varieties grown in the Cévennes PGI appellation are Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache and Cinsault for red wines.
White varieties include Grenache, Clairette, Sauvignon, Viognier and Chardonnay.

The Cassagnas estate was founded in 2019 by Ekaterina de Cazenove, a passionate winemaker who has embarked on the production of natural wine. The wines produced are renowned for their quality.

is a young domaine created in 2003 by wine enthusiasts. Their wines have a strong mineral base and are frank and original.
