Barbecues are that moment when all worries disappear and good cheer reigns supreme. Singing sausages, grilling lamb chops or vegetables just marked by the black grid. As a representative of conviviality and generosity, the barbecue is a time for sharing the divine beverage that is wine. There aren’t really any rules for barbecuing, as there are so many different types of food to cook.
For grilled red meats, however, choose red wines. For fish, white wines will win out. And finally, for the most festive moments of the summer, fresh rosés to enjoy under the sun!
Our red wine recommendations
The luckiest among you can choose to accompany their barbecue with a red wine from a royal Loire appellation:
Chinon
. The Rabelais terroir is famous for the quality of its red wines, made mainly from Cabernet Franc.
The nose of these wines is extremely fruity, with dominant aromas of red and stone fruits. On the palate, we find the same highly aromatic side with similar flavors that make this wine a real mouth wine. A real delight on summer grills.
Ma Petite Robe Rouge, Clo’ – Le Chinon De Clothilde Pain :
For small purses, Twil recommends this wine, very supple and round on the palate, with fruity aromas.
Dessus Narçay, Domaine Pithon-Paillé:
“”Both the nose and the palate are very elegant, with notes of rose, violet and ripe cherry. The wine is structured yet supple, very tasty, and with remarkable acidic length.” (Le Figaro des Vins)
Our white wine recommendations
We can also dream of a barbecue in the middle of the Beaujolais vineyards.
Beaujolais vineyards
with light, tangy white wines. They are the perfect accompaniment to fish en papillote or lightly grilled on the barbecue.
La Mère Blanche, La Famille K:
a light, fruity wine at an affordable price!
- La Grange Masson, Château Grand’grange : Appreciated by the critics, this Beaujolais-Villages is a sunny cuvée. An aromatically complex wine with floral and white fruit (peach) notes. The finish is sapid, opening on pineapple.
- Beaujolais Blanc, Jean-Claude Lapalu : This organic estate is committed to respecting the soils of its vineyards to guarantee quality wines. “Respectful of the environment and concerned about the quality of our wines, we use neither chemical fertilizers nor weedkillers”.
Our rosé recommendations
Because barbecues are synonymous with summer, we tend to bring out one (or more) bottle(s) of rosé to accompany grilled meats. Visit rosé is indeed an ideal wine to sublimate various barbecued sausages. Most work very well: Côtes de Provence, Languedoc and Tavel. Le Tavel is interesting because it’s the only Rhône appellation to produce rosé exclusively. The nose of these wines is a blend of flowers and red berries in their early years. On the palate, roundness and freshness (go for this critically acclaimed rosé! )
All that remains is for me to wish you bon appétit!
