The story

Domaine Saint-Rémy has been a family estate since 1725. Certified organic and biodynamic Demeter since 2010. Their holdings include four Grand Cru terroirs: Hengst, Brand, Goldert and Schlossberg.

A family estate

The history of the estate began in 1725, with the creation of the vineyard in Wettolsheim, Alsace. Since then, generations have succeeded one another at the head of the family estate, which has managed to root its methods in ancestral know-how.

The vineyards surround many of the region’s communes, including Kaysersberg, Eguisheim, Ammerschwihr, Turckheim and Walbach…

The estate uses all the typical Alsatian grape varieties such as Pinot Gris, Riesling and Gewurztraminer. The wines produced include reds, whites, rosés and crémants.

Margot and Florian have recently joined the family business, bringing energy and modernity to Domaine Saint-Rémy.

A biodynamic estate

Since 2010, the estate’s wines have been certified organic, a further step towards respect for nature and the terroir. The estate’s environmental commitments were further strengthened in 2011 with the adoption of biodynamic principles governed by Demeter certification.

This type of farming produces wines in which the terroir expresses itself fully, and in which all the aromatic richness of the terroir and the grapes can be felt. The harvest rhythm is not only natural, but also solar, lunar and planetary. Soils are treated exclusively with biodynamic preparations such as horn dung (500) and horn silica (501). All grapes are harvested by hand, gently pressed and fermented using only indigenous yeasts.
