L’actualité du vin vue par

MEDOC (Gironde, France), vignoble de Margaux

Located in the village of Leyssac, in the commune of Saint-Estèphe, the
Château Plantier Rose
is a beautiful 30-hectare estate managed from a very old Médoc bourgeois house on the edge of the prestigious Route des Châteaux. Today, this estate is particularly renowned for its Crus Bourgeois. Aged in French oak barrels for 12 months, the nose is charming, the palate round and the tannins smooth.

With their unsuspected complexity, these wines hold many secrets for patient connoisseurs…

The history of the estate

The estate’s archives show that it belonged to the same family prior to 1870, although the names have changed as they were passed down from mother to daughter. Françoise Conte, the current owner with her husband Michel, represents the fifth generation in the direct line.

The vineyard is located on a clay-gravel plateau which guarantees the best potential. To make the most of this, Françoise Conte has undertaken to further expand her skills in viticulture and oenology. Family tradition played a major role in motivating him, and his father, former president and founder of the Maison du vin de
Saint-Estèphe
helped the couple along the way.

Today, tasting feedback has been extremely positive. The press and industry professionals are talking about it.

Cru Bourgeois distinction

Cru Bourgeois is above all a guarantee of exceptional quality.

This label requires compliance with extremely strict specifications, including :

  • Wine quality: blind tasting and consistency measurement.
  • Traceability and authentication with a sticker for each vintage.
  • Organoleptic checks prior to packaging continue throughout the five-year duration of the Classification (at least 2 checks per cru).
  • The environment, through the Crus’ commitment to good environmental practices.

Quality is central to Château Plantier Rose. Our participation in the Crus Bourgeois du Médoc is fully in line with this approach.
