Château-de-Beaucastel-et-Vignes-1024x682

Today, Château Beaucastel is one of the most established estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Carrying on the tradition of blending the 13 historic grape varieties of Châteauneuf-du-PapeHe creates a unique style every year. This is what gives the wines their exceptional combination of power, structure, elegance and freshness.

A rich history

The first traces of Château de Beaucastel as it exists today date back to the 15th century. In 1549, Pierre de Beaucastel bought “a barn with its tenement of land”. The mansion was later built here, with the Beaucastel coat of arms carved into the stone, in a small salon with a French-style ceiling.

Much later, in 1909, Pierre Tramier took over the estate. He then passed it on to his son-in-law, Pierre Perrin, a man of science who helped Beaucastel take off. Jacques Perrin continued his father’s efforts until 1978, giving this wine its letters of nobility.

Today, the torch is in the hands of Jean-Pierre and François, Jacques Perrin’s sons, who are continuing the Château de Beaucastel story.

Beaucastel is first and foremost a family affair, the Perrin family, whose strength lies in its ability to bring together the talents of each to bring their vineyards to life under the aegis of shared values. These include absolute respect for the land and terroir, biodynamic viticulture as a philosophy of life, and the quest for truth, balance and elegance.

Recognized and glorified expertise

Marc Perrin is one of the Rhône’s most important winemakers. With Rodolphe Péters (sixth generation of Champagne Pierre Péters winemakers) and Oscar-winner Brad Pitt, he recently launched a rosé champagne project called Fleur de Miraval.

Indeed, the Perrin, Pitt and Péters families’ shared passion for excellence, refinement and Art is shared by men and women the world over, all united on the road to the unforgettable. So they set out to create a special cuvée to satisfy the wildest and most iconic desires of all those who share their vision.

The Perrin family vintages

Château Beaucastel

The Perrin family produces numerous cuvées, the most prestigious of which is the
Châteauneuf-du-Pape Beaucastel red.
Acclaimed by critics such as Jancis Robinson, James Suckling and Bettane & Desseauve, this “fat, chocolatey, powerful and voluminous wine” possesses “freshness and density”. The palate is full and supple. Figs, cherries, blackberries, stewed fruits… are supported by a fine acidity. The tannins are fine and wonderfully pleasant to taste.

The House also offers
white wines
fruity and easy-drinking. To the nose, this Châteauneuf-du-Pape white 2020 reveals notes of candied ginger and grapefruit zest. Ample and complex on the palate. Aromas of apricot, mango and white flowers blend perfectly. It’s a pure success!

Coudoulet Castle

The Perrin family also offers more affordable vintages under the Château de Coudoulet umbrella, with reds and whites. However, these wines do not have the prestigious Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, but rather the Côtes-du-rhône appellation. A way to discover the Perrin family without breaking the bank!
