These are exceptional appellations with priceless terroirs that undoubtedly produce some of the finest wines in the Rh\u00f4ne Valley, and Domaine de Rosiers wines are no exception.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

A young and ambitious estate<\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

Officially created in 1976 by Andr\u00e9 Drevon, the history of Domaine de Rosiers<\/a> began with the founding of Gaec de Syrah, led by Andr\u00e9’s son Louis, who joined forces with his father in 1980. Both initiated the estate’s winegrowing adventure until Andr\u00e9’s retirement. This is when the domain takes on its current name. The name comes from the Rozier locality, where the estate’s vines are grown, and pays homage to the terroir behind the estate’s wines. Louis thus perpetuated the work begun by his father and passed the torch in 2013 to his nephew and grandson of Andr\u00e9 Drevon, Maxime Gourdain, who is now at the head of the estate. To this day, he continues the projects initiated by previous generations, preserving the ancestral know-how of the company, which guarantees the quality of the estate’s wines. Today, he’s leading a project to expand the range thanks to new work on a vineyard in Ampuis.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

A demanding terroir guarantees excellence<\/h2>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 8-hectare estate produces wines according to the specifications of three different appellations, resulting in cuv\u00e9es that reflect the typicity of a prestigious, rich terroir. Indeed, the granite schist and clay-limestone soils, together with the mild climate, enable the fruit to reach perfect ripeness at the end of the vine’s vegetative cycle. Thanks to its 20 plots, Domaine de Rosiers produces between 15,000 and 20,000 bottles a year. Most of the work in the vineyard is done by hand, due to the slope of the plots, which can be as steep as 60%. The terraced hillsides therefore require a great deal of work, which is rewarded by the quality of the resulting wines.<\/p>\n

Two key names, one common identity<\/h2>\n

The winery produces red and white wines in the C\u00f4te-R\u00f4tie and Condrieu AOP appellations, as well as IGP Syrah. C\u00f4te-R\u00f4tie’s red cuv\u00e9es are characterized by smooth, harmonious tannins, as in the Cuv\u00e9e Drevon, or by powerful, concentrated black fruit aromas that will require longer cellaring in the Cuv\u00e9e Coeur de Rose. Finally, the cuv\u00e9e Parcellaire “Besset” is the house’s most recent and probably its most upmarket. Its aromatic and structural power will make it a great bottle. Domaine de Rosiers Condrieu is made from 100% Viognier grapes, revealing all their freshness and palette of flavors – a great white wine without a doubt.<\/p>\n
