Located in the Côte d’Or, near the village of Vosne-Romanée, the estate’s reputation is linked to its history and size. It has a privileged location, with the famous Château du Clos Vougeot just a stone’s throw away.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

The Mongeard-Mugneret estate draws its strength from family lineage

The Mongeard-Mugneret family has been growing vines for as long as anyone can remember. At least 8 generations of winemakers have been involved since 1620. In 1945, Eugène Mongeard and Edmée Mugneret began to build the current empire by combining their lands. The reputation of the Mongeard-Mugneret estate was not long in coming. Their grandson, Vincent Mongeard, is now at the helm. His wish is to keep the family heritage alive by embodying it to perfection and developing it as far as possible. He works in tandem with his wife, Anne Mongeard, who is in charge of wine marketing and accounting.

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”15346″ img_size=”full”][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

The owner of the Mongeard-Mugneret estate consistently cultivates his terroir

The estate covers 30 hectares spread over no fewer than 35 appellations. That’s a lot, especially for a region with so many small estates. The soils are predominantly clay-limestone.

Vincent Mongeard advocates precise vinification and exact control of tools to produce vintages of consistent quality.

The grapes are harvested by hand, and the soils and yields are carefully managed to maintain control over production quality and quantity. The wine is aged for 18 to 22 months in oak barrels. The wood is carefully selected from forests in the Nièvre, Allier and Vosges regions. It is then air-dried. This process is an integral part of the winemaking process, giving the wine not only fragrance, but also remarkable roundness and mellowness.

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”15347″ img_size=”full”][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

The Mongeard-Mugneret estate accumulates renowned appellations

The estate is spread over 35 appellations, hard-won over the centuries.
Most of the wine produced is red, with Pinot Noir as the sole grape variety.
