There is occasional snowfall due to its proximity to the Aigoual massif.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The C\u00e9vennes PGI syndicate is also experimenting with agroforestry and its variant <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/vin-champagne.ouest-france.fr\/la-vitiforesterie\/\"><br \/>\n  <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">vitiforestry <\/span><br \/>\n<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in various fields.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The region is known for its schistose massif, while the production sites are essentially composed of marl mixed with limestone.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2>Grape varieties<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main grape varieties grown in the C\u00e9vennes PGI appellation are Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache and Cinsault for red wines.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">White varieties include Grenache, Clairette, Sauvignon, Viognier and Chardonnay.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Top 2 Cevennes PGI estates<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.twil.fr\/france\/languedoc-roussillon\/domaine-de-cassagnas.html#producer_description\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Cassagnas estate<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  was founded in 2019 by Ekaterina de Cazenove, a passionate winemaker who has embarked on the production of natural wine.
