Since acquiring the estate, the Camallonga family has adopted traditional know-how. Produced from three grape varieties, their red wines stand out for their powerful flavor.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

A family legacy<\/h2>\n

The history of Ch\u00e2teau Haut-Musset dates back to the time when Camille Camallonga acquired the estate known as Ch\u00e2teau Ch\u00eane-Vieux. The latter is the work of the commune’s former mayor, Louis Simonnet, who built it in 1902. At first, the plantation covered just 6 hectares, but Camille Camallonga was a born winemaker. He worked in Algeria as a wine merchant and winemaker. Before acquiring the estate, he had already succeeded in vinifying up to 300 hectares of land in Oranais.<\/p>\n

Camille Camallonga died in 1958 and was succeeded by his daughter. Yvonne Camallonga takes over the running of the estate with her husband Henri Foucard. It should be noted that Camille Camallonga’s son-in-law was one of his collaborators when he worked in Algeria. Yvonne and Henri Foucard then bequeathed the estate to their two sons, Jean-Yves and Michel, who took it over in 1988. At that time, the estate was divided into two parts: “Puisseguin Saint-\u00c9milion”, covering 11 hectares, and “Lalande de Pomerol”, covering 28 hectares. From generation to generation, the estate’s owners pass on the torch. It is now in the hands of Yvonne Camallonga’s grandchildren.<\/p>\n

A wine that rhymes with care<\/h2>\n

The Camallonga estate is located in Parsac, in the Creuse department. Winemaking and grape-growing at Ch\u00e2teau Haut-Musset are a family affair. It is passed on to each generation, which adopts traditional methods. Every stage of production is meticulously monitored. The same applies to ageing, which takes place in barrels or vats. This respect for tradition produces a cuv\u00e9e of great finesse, aromatic, bouquet and suppleness.<\/p>\n

The terroir of Puisseguin Saint-\u00c9milion is rich in clay and limestone. It produces a wine with tannic characteristics. Lalande Pomerol is characterized by sandy-gravel and clay-gravel soils. His wine stands out for its suppleness and freshness.<\/p>\n

A blend of flavors<\/h2>\n

Ch\u00e2teau Haut-Musset is known for its 4 red wines, each with its own personality. The first is “Lalande-de-Pomerol”, produced from 3 grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Cabernet franc. Powerful, its taste is a subtle blend of tannins and wine freshness. The second is “Cuv\u00e9e Transhumance Lalande-de-Pomerol”, a powerful red Libourne with suppleness and medium acidity.<\/p>\n

Grand Colombier Montagne Saint-\u00c9milion” is another wine from Ch\u00e2teau Haut-Musset. This red wine is powerful, dry and more tannic. The “cuv\u00e9e des demoiselles Lalande-de-Pomerol” closes the list of works by Ch\u00e2teau Haut-Musset. Its taste is similar to that of Grand Colombier Montagne Saint-\u00c9milion.<\/p>\n
