Yet the terroirs of the two estates are very different.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4><b>The story of an exceptional estate<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15862 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/vin-champagne.ouest-france.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/paysage1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"567\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vinispi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/paysage1.jpeg 1000w, https:\/\/www.vinispi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/paysage1-300x170.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.vinispi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/paysage1-768x435.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Located in the southern Rh\u00f4ne valley, Ch\u00e2teau des Tours is part of a three-chateau estate now owned by Emmanuel Reynaud: Ch\u00e2teau Rayas, Ch\u00e2teau des Tours and Ch\u00e2teau Fonsalette.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A family estate, its origins date back to the 1930s, when Louis Reynaud, son of Albert Reynaud (who had owned Ch\u00e2teau Rayas since 1880), acquired Ch\u00e2teau des Tours between 1935 and 1938. In 1945, Ch\u00e2teau Fonsalette joined the estate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jacques Reynaud, son of Louis, took over the running of Ch\u00e2teau Rayas and Ch\u00e2teau Fonsalette when his father died in 1978. His nephew, Emmanuel Reynaud, inherited the Tours estate, where he set up a winery and developed the Ch\u00e2teau des Tours wines from 1989 onwards.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 1997, following the death of Jacques Reynaud, Emmanuel amalgamated the three estates to form a single estate. The three wines<a href=\"https:\/\/www.twil.fr\/france\/vallee-du-rhone\/chateau-rayas.html\">(Ch\u00e2teau Rayas<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.twil.fr\/france\/vallee-du-rhone\/chateau-des-tours.html\">Ch\u00e2teau des Tours<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.twil.fr\/france\/vallee-du-rhone\/chateau-de-fonsalette.html\">Ch\u00e2teau Fonsalette<\/a>) are made at Ch\u00e2teau Rayas (Rayas and Fonsalette) and Ch\u00e2teau des Tours.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4><b>A Rhodanian terroir<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The wines produced by the domaine are at the heart of <a href=\"https:\/\/vin-champagne.ouest-france.fr\/la-region-du-rhone-meridional\/\">the southern Rh\u00f4ne Valley<\/a>. They are divided between AOC Ch\u00e2teauneuf-du-Pape, C\u00f4tes du Rh\u00f4ne, Vacqueyras and C\u00f4tes du Rh\u00f4ne Village.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It covers 40 hectares of mixed farming, with vines, mother vines, cereals and a plot of olive trees. The vines are planted with Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Merlot and Counoise for the reds. The white varieties are Grenache Blanc and Clairette.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Emmanuel Reynaud pays particular attention to the vines and terroir, and meticulously plans the harvest. This is to ensure that the grapes are as perfectly ripe as possible. The wines produced are the perfect expression of their terroir and are of the highest quality.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b><img class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15861 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/vin-champagne.ouest-france.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/cave3.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"533\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.vinispi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/cave3.jpeg 533w, https:\/\/www.vinispi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/cave3-200x300.jpeg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 533px) 100vw, 533px\" \/><\/b><\/h4>\n<h4><b>The wines<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Every year, the estate&#8217;s wines set new standards in terms of balance and complexity. Their ageing potential is always surprising, whatever the vintage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In fact, from Vacqueyras to vin de pays, they are always sold after a few years&#8217; ageing on the estate, and their tasting is recommended after a few years&#8217; cellaring.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ch\u00e2teau des Tours Blanc is vinified under the C\u00f4tes-du-Rh\u00f4ne appellation, with 100% Grenache. Its light yellow color with a thick disk announces a certain opulence and unctuousness. On the nose, aromas of wax, anise, green almond and white-fleshed fruit reflect the wine&#8217;s great complexity.
