The origins of Ch\u00e2teau d’Astros can be traced back to the 13th century, when the Knights Templar settled on a fertile, farming plain. In 1314, the estate passed into the hands of the Knights of Malta, who continued to cultivate the land and vines.<\/p>\n

The year 1637 saw the arrival of winegrowing with the very first Astros winery. At the time, the estate was a veritable living space: in addition to wine, olives, sheep, figs and even a chapel were grown here!<\/p>\n

In the 19th century, the construction of the ch\u00e2teau confirmed the development of the vineyard under the impetus of Maximim Martin, a wealthy soap-maker from Marseille. This Italian art enthusiast wants to make a piece of Tuscany in Provence.<\/p>\n

The estate stands out in the south-east thanks to its rare and exceptional heritage, and is one of the best-preserved vineyards in the C\u00f4tes de Provence appellation.<\/p>\n
